Subin Chandran

Founder of Hidden Mantra | Spiritual Seeker | Cultural Guide | Yoga Practitioner

Subin Chandran is a spiritual practitioner, cultural explorer, and the founder of Hidden Mantra, a platform dedicated to preserving and sharing the timeless wisdom of India’s spiritual and cultural traditions.

He was born and raised in Kannur, Kerala — a land deeply rooted in ritual, devotion, and heritage. In Kannur, spirituality is not an occasional event; it is part of everyday life. Growing up in such an environment naturally shaped Subin’s outlook and curiosity toward ancient traditions.

From an early age, Subin developed a deep interest in understanding life beyond the material world. His journey has been guided by curiosity, discipline, and a sincere search for inner meaning.

For him, spirituality was never just an interest.
It was a calling.

Where It All Began

The year 2018 became a turning point in Subin’s life. While pursuing his degree, his attention gradually shifted toward meditation, spiritual literature, and philosophical exploration.

At a time when many people were caught in the noise and distractions of modern life, Subin began searching for silence and deeper understanding.

He immersed himself in spiritual books and philosophical writings and soon discovered the practical path of yoga. Conversations with like-minded seekers expanded his perspective on life beyond material pursuits.

One book that profoundly influenced him was Autobiography of a Yogi, which introduced him to the depth of India’s spiritual science and the transformative power of yoga.

He was also deeply inspired by Nine Lives by William Dalrymple, a book that explores diverse spiritual traditions of India. Through it, Subin gained new insights into the powerful ritual art of Theyyam, which originates from his own homeland.

These readings did not simply inform him.

They transformed him.

A Deep Connection with Theyyam

While many children spend their time playing or watching movies, Subin’s curiosity often led him toward cultural traditions.

Growing up in the border regions of Kasargod and Kannur, he frequently witnessed the sacred ritual performance of Theyyam, one of Kerala’s most powerful and visually striking art forms.

The vibrant colours, rhythmic music, and intricate makeup of Theyyam fascinated him deeply. As he grew older, that fascination developed into a profound respect for the tradition.

At the same time, he noticed that many international travelers were visiting Kerala specifically to witness Theyyam.

This realization inspired him to use his local knowledge to help visitors understand the deeper cultural and spiritual meaning behind the ritual.

Today, Subin actively promotes cultural tourism centered around Theyyam, guiding travelers and spiritual seekers who wish to experience this sacred tradition in its authentic environment.

What began as childhood curiosity has evolved into a mission of cultural preservation.

The Buddhist Turning Point

After completing his degree, Subin dedicated much of his time to studying Buddhist philosophy, Buddha’s teachings, and mindfulness practices.

To share what he was learning, he started a social media initiative called Buddha Quotes.

What began as a small page gradually grew into a global spiritual community:

Through carefully curated teachings, reflections, and quotes, Subin began reaching spiritual seekers across the world.

His work demonstrates that ancient wisdom still resonates deeply in the modern world.

The Yoga Path

Since 2020, yoga has become an essential part of Subin’s daily life.

Over the past seven years, he has practiced yoga under the guidance of multiple teachers and acharyas, studying both practical techniques and classical yogic philosophy.

He is currently pursuing structured training programs, including diploma-level Yoga Teacher Training through a Kerala state resource institution.

For Subin, yoga is not merely physical exercise.

It is the alignment of body, breath, and consciousness.

Founder of Hidden Mantra

India is widely known for its extraordinary spiritual depth and cultural diversity. Yet Subin noticed that there was no single platform presenting this vast knowledge in an accessible and authentic way.
